Welcome to Our Community:
Stitching, Knitting and Giving
A place to knit, stitch, chat –
and belong
At our heart, we are far more than just a craft group. We are a friendly, welcoming place for knitters, sewers and crocheters to come together, enjoy good company, share ideas, and talk about everything that goes with making — from yarn and fabric to patterns, techniques, projects, and life in general. The main attraction is simply getting together. The chat, the laughter, the shared enthusiasm for yarn and fabric, and the joy of learning new skills make our sessions both exciting and genuinely good for your wellbeing. Whether youʼre an experienced maker or just picking up needles for the first time, youʼll find friendly faces and plenty of encouragement.
We meet regularly at our home base, The Yard, where our KSY (Knit, Stitch & Yarn) groups run twice a week. Once a month we act as a Resource Centre and host an Open Day, welcoming other SSK groups to join us — a lively, social gathering full of inspiration, conversation and shared creativity. Likewise with the Sewing Attic, we run a monthly workshop which features a special idea then get it made to take home.
Members can also enjoy access to yarn, patterns and sundries at special prices, making it easier to try new ideas and keep projects flowing.
Alongside the friendship and “craft therapy” we share, many of our members enjoy using their skills to help others, creating handmade items for local and international charities. Knowing our work can bring comfort to someone else adds a lovely sense of purpose – but always alongside plenty of chat and cake.
Whether youʼd like to join a group, connect from home, or simply pop along and see what weʼre about, thereʼs a place for you here.
No joining fees. No pressure. Just good company, shared creativity, and a warmwelcome.
